Seattle Tacoma Airport from the air

Seattle's airport sits halfway between Seattle and Tacoma, hence the name Sea-Tac. The hotel and the church are about a 30-minute drive from the airport, depending on traffic. Though you can rent a car to get around you don't have to; in addition to the usual ground transportation options, this page describes alternatives you can use.

Ground Transportation To and From the Airport

Sea-Tac has the typical services which are described on this page, Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SEA) Ground Transportation including transit, shuttles, limosines, taxis, and more.

Rental Cars
There is a shuttle that will take you to the off-site Rental Car facility where the majority of rental car companies have their check-in desks. This page lists a dozen rental car companies that serve Sea-Tac.
Shared-Ride Shuttles, Towncars, Limousines
You can go to the Ground Transportation Plaza on Floor 3 (Ground Level) of the Parking Garage to request transportation, or prearrange a pickup (which we would recommend) to save time.
Transit (Light rail and bus)
There is a light rail station at the airport that will take you to Downtown Seattle's King Street Station for less than $4/person. From there you can transfer to a bus that will take you to the Eastgate Park and Ride that is next to our recommended hotel (Hyatt House). It's a longer trip but very inexpensive.
Taxi
Taxis are probably the quickest and easiest way to get out of the airport, and they are plentiful, even at night. You can request of the driver a flat rate to Bellevue (typically $45 to $50 one way) when you get to the taxi. Taxis here accept credit cards. Don't forget to tip.
Ridesharing
Both Uber and Lyft operate throughout the Seattle and Bellevue areas. You can prearrange a pickup, or request a ride when you get to the airport. There are specific locations where you must go to meet your ride (not at the arrival doors) so check the instructions below as well as those you receive from the driver.

Transportation To and From the Church

There is ample parking at the church, but you can also use Uber or Lyft to get from your hotel to the church and back. Taxis are harder to find; you'd need to reserve one in advance to be certain that you can get where you're going in a timely manner. With either option, we recommend scheduling a pickup. The church is about a 10-minute ride from the Hyatt House.

Transportation for Sightseeing

We're pretty proud of our transit system here in the Seattle area. The recommended hotel, Hyatt House, is next door to one of the best-served transit centers in the area, the Eastgate Park and Ride. Busses run from early morning to late at night, though less often on weekends than on weekdays, so plan accordingly.

With Saturday afternoon and evening open, there's time to hop a bus into Seattle and visit places like Pike Place Market and the Space Needle if you like. And if you stay past the last bus, you can always request Uber or Lyft to get you back to the hotel.

King County Metro will sell you a Regional Day Pass so you can get on and off both Metro and Sound Transit busses with one pass. You can read about the Orca Card at this website: https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/metro/fares-and-payment/ways-to-pay/orca-cards, including how to buy and load fare value to the card.
